At Habitat ReStore, your quality donations keep us in business. Clean out your garage or basement and help build affordable housing in the process. You’ll receive a receipt for your tax-deductible donations each time you donate.

Request a 48-hour priority pick-up through ReSupply online or call 641.346.4316. They can pick up from multiple floors and disassemble furniture. Prices start at $99.
Donation Guidelines
All donated materials must be in 100 percent working condition, free of mold, water damage and to the best of your knowledge, free of lead paint, chemicals and hazardous materials.
Unfortunately, we are not accepting:
  • paint or stain, wallpaper
  • used toilets, used shower doors, solid surface vanity tops
  • storm windows or screens, window shades or blinds, unframed windows or mirrors
  • used carpet, vinyl or tile, new or used laminate flooring made in China (as it may contain formaldehyde)
  • hollow core slab doors
  • used trim
  • siding
  • used garage doors
  • recliners
  • file cabinets
  • electronics, TVs or CRT monitors
  • dehumidifiers
  • fireplace inserts
  • mercury thermostats
  • futons, recliners or sleeper sofas
  • electric organs or pianos
  • clothing or household items

Habitat ReStore Free Pick-Up Service
  • Free pick up services provided for select donations including: cabinet sets, appliances, building materials, and home furnishings. Please text photos of the items you wish to donate to 608.492.1087.
  • Items picked up free of charge in three to five days on average.
  • All donated materials must be in 100% working condition, free of mold, water damage and to the best of your knowledge, free of lead paint, chemicals and hazardous materials. Please see our List of Materials Accepted.
  • Items must be placed in the garage or just outside the garage and ready for pick-up prior to arrival.
  • You can request a donation pick up by calling 608.663.1191 or emailing donation@restoredane.org. Photos can be texted to 608.492.1087.

Materials Accepted and Sold at Habitat ReStore

Appliances
Washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, cooktops/ovens, AC units
Appliances should be 10 years old or newer, clean and in 100 percent working order.
Range hoods, microwaves, dishwashers, water heaters (new only)
Appliances should be five years old or newer, clean and in 100 percent working order.

Cabinets
Kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, bathroom vanities, medicine cabinets
Cabinets should be 20 years old or newer and have all doors and drawers. Must be free of mold, water damage and structural damage. All vanity tops must have accompanying cabinet. We are NOT accepting file cabinets, solid surface vanity tops or granite countertops at this time.

Flooring & Finishes
Hardwood flooring, carpeting, vinyl, tile, laminate
Must be new - we are NOT accepting these materials used. With the exception of tile and laminate, all donated materials must be a minimum of 100 square feet,

Furniture
Dressers, tables, chairs, sofas, shelving, framed mirrors, bed frames (frames only)
We are NOT accepting pressboard furniture, recliners, office items, file cabinets, entertainment centers or futons at this time. Antiques (typically pre-1960s) need to be in good condition and cannot require repairs.

Lumber, Trim & Building Materials
Plywood, paneling, trim (new only), dimensional and framing lumber, particle board, composite decking
Lumber and trim must be a minimum of 6 feet in length and sheet goods must be a minimum of a 1/2 sheet or 4 feet by 4 feet in size. All wood products must be free of water damage, mold and cutouts.
New insulation, new roofing material
Items must be in original packaging.

Plumbing & Electrical
Kitchen sinks, pedestal and drop-in bathroom sinks, utility sinks, bathtubs, Corian countertops, toilets (new), plumbing hardware
We are NOT accepting solid surface vanity tops or granite countertops at this time.
Electrical, Lighting, Ceiling Fans
Must be modern (not obsolete) and residential (not commercial). We do NOT accept electronics, computers, monitors or TVs.

Tools & Outdoor
Power tools, hand tools, toolboxes, storage, lawn tools and yard equipment
All tools must be clean, in 100 percent working order and have all safety guards, batteries, cords, etc.
Bricks, block, pavers
These are accepted seasonally.

Windows & Doors
New windows or gently used windows less than a year old (on a case by case basis)
Must have all sashes and frames and must be free of broken glass and fogged glass. For large windows, please call for pre-approval. We are NOT accepting blinds, storm windows or screens.
Interior/exterior doors, storm doors, patio doors (with frame only), shower doors (new)
Must be free of damage, fogged glass, lead paint, etc. We are NOT accepting hollow core doors or broken door jambs.

On-Site Removal Experts

Habitat ReStore provides an easy and free way for donors to have materials professionally removed by our staff-led volunteer team. Habitat ReStore will carefully remove kitchen cabinets, appliances, bathroom vanities, fixtures, doors and other acceptable items before a home or business remodel. All work is done by our contractor support services manager and a small, skilled team of volunteers.
Donors receive a tax receipt for each donation, and all sales from donated items support building affordable housing right here in Dane County.

Our ReStores depend on your donations. If you have overstock inventory, used items or just need to clear out your warehouse, please consider us.
