On a Mission to Advance Our Mission

Special events and home builds provide a chance to connect with like-minded volunteers and donors while deepening ties to the community. More importantly, the experience transforms lives – both for the volunteers and donors, as well as Habitat’s partner families. It means the world to our partner families to see that fellow community members care enough to help them break the cycle of poverty.

Dream Tours

Dream Tours are interactive events that bring our community members, partners, donors, and friends together in an intimate setting to see Habitat’s mission up-close. Hosted on active build sites, attendees have the opportunity to learn about Habitat’s latest work, ask questions, and hear from a partner family about their journey to homeownership.

Souper Bowl XXIX

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Campus Chapter hosts this high-energy event each year. Stay tuned for more details coming soon.

Faith Builds

Participating in a Habitat Faith Build allows congregations to witness God’s work outside of church’s four walls. Habitat’s Faith Build Program is a memorable opportunity to build homes for families in need alongside other congregations.

Host Your Own Build

Looking for a unique way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary? Need a new activity for your friends, family or co-workers? We have plenty of ways for you to come together and give back. Building community has never been so literal.

Global Village Trips

Make a difference and Build in El Salvador!
In 2011, the Habitat for Humanity of Dane County’s Board of Directors approved a partnership with Hábitat El Salvador. Since that partnership began, 13 groups of volunteers from Dane County have traveled to El Salvador to build homes and help provide adequate housing for hard-working families.
Habitat Dane started donating internationally in 1990 and has contributed a total of $784,780 to more than 30 countries across the globe. At present, 199 families have been served internationally by Habitat for Humanity of Dane County.
Due to COVID-19, no trips are currently scheduled. Hopefully we can schedule a work trip for late 2023. Please check back or contact Trip Leader, Jerry Lehman, at jerrylehman88@gmail.com to join the wait list!

“It was a TERRIFIC week to share with all you folks. MUCHO GRACIAS! To help Victor & Ides begin their house, interact with so many Salvadorans, the learning, the laughs, the camaraderie shared amongst us, the support, the quality teamwork effort and fun shared made for a wonderful experience. I appreciate it all so much.”
– Dee Wylie, Habitat volunteer
