Please consider presenting a family member or friend with a donation in their name. Your gesture will honor their special place in your life, or can mark a special occasion like a wedding, birthday, or anniversary. We will send the person being honored a personal note acknowledging their part in helping their neighbors in need. You can also make a donation in memory of a loved one, and we will send a memorial card to the person you designate.
Many companies have matching gift programs that double or even triple individual, tax-deductible contributions made by their employees. Ask your Human Resources office about your company’s matching gift program today.
Monthly giving is an easy and efficient way to support Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, and provides us with predictable income to support our mission. We simply charge your credit card or debit your bank account each month, and you can stop or change your donation whenever you’d like. Each year we will send you a receipt for tax purposes. Donate a car or other vehicle to Habitat for Humanity of Dane County
Do you have a car, truck, motorcycle, motorhome or boat on a trailer taking up valuable space in your driveway? Your donation helps Habitat for Humanity of Dane County’s local mission of eliminating poverty housing and saves you the time and energy of finding a buyer.
By donating a car or other vehicle through our vehicle donation program, Cars for Homes™, you can help Habitat for Humanity of Dane County build houses in partnership with families in need of a hand up, not a hand out. Your donated vehicle will help us build more homes for families right here in Dane County.
It is quick and easy to donate cars, trucks, boats, RV’s, motorcycles, construction equipment, farm equipment, and other vehicles — running or not. Plus, you may be eligible for a tax deduction.
The Thrivent Choice® program offers two ways Thrivent Members can recommend where Thrivent Financial distributes some of its charitable outreach funds. Some members can participate in both, based on eligibility. Eligible Thrivent Financial members are designated Choice Dollars, based on insurance premiums, contract values and Thrivent Financial volunteer leadership. Choice Dollars can be directed to Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. If you are eligible to direct Choice Dollars, you will receive a letter in the mail at the point you become eligible. Additionally, all members 16 and older can vote during specific Voting Events to help determine where Thrivent Financial distributes a set amount of grant funds among charitable organizations. Your donations of used, new and surplus building materials, appliances and furniture help Habitat for Humanity of Dane County to create simple, decent and affordable homes for families in need. Proceeds from the Habitat ReStores in Dane County have provided funding for 51 homes since 2002 – that’s 3-4 homes per year! Read more.
Fundraise for Habitat
Join our team and get involved! Use your creativity and passion to take an active role in fundraising, donating or spreading awareness for our cause. - Sports: Whether you are running a 5K, skydiving for the first time, or anything in between, use your next sporting opportunity to raise funds and awareness.
- In Honor of/In Memory of: Celebrate someone amazing by raising funds to honor or remember them.
- Birthday or holidays: Have everything you need? Why not give up your gifts and ask for donations instead! Ideas include recommending a $20 donation for your 20th birthday, or a goal of $500 total for your 50th birthday.
- Be creative! Grow a mustache, shave your head, play a video game, dance all day….tap those creative juices and do something amazing!
- Sponsor your build day: The average daily cost for materials of each Habitat home is $1,500. Form your team of eight volunteers and set a team goal of raising at least $1,500!
